Nawang Tsering Sets Silk Route Ultra Record in Ladakh

The Ladakh Marathon held several very difficult mountain races.

Nawang Tsering won the longest race, which covered 122 kilometers.

He finished in 12 hours, 12 minutes and 18 seconds, setting a new record.

Suraj Meena came second and set a record for the fastest runner from outside Ladakh.

Tenzin Dolma won the women’s long race.

Jigmet Stobdan won the 72-kilometer Khardung La Challenge and also set a record.

Runners had to climb from Nubra Valley to the very high Khardung La before finishing in Leh.

The event also included separate races for veteran men and women.
