Telangana Plans Major Basara Temple, Pushkar Ghat Development
Telangana is preparing for a large religious event called the Godavari Pushkarams.
The event is scheduled to begin on June 27 next year.
Officials want to start construction early so visitors have safer and better facilities.
At Basara, Minister Jupally Krishna Rao began a ₹20 crore project for the river ghats.
Ghats are steps and areas where people can reach and worship near the river.
He also began a ₹354 crore project to improve the Sri Gnana Saraswati Temple.
The temple will receive new buildings and modern facilities for more pilgrims.
Altogether, the state plans almost ₹1,000 crore of work at 12 Godavari locations.
