Supreme Court Samadhan Samaroh Disposes of 1,712 Cases
The Supreme Court held a special three-day programme to help solve legal disputes.
It was called Samadhan Samaroh 2026.
The programme considered 3,285 cases.
In total, 1,712 cases were settled or otherwise disposed of.
Some cases were solved with help from mediation.
The disputes involved families, property, accidents, taxes and jobs.
Judges and lawyers encouraged the people involved to reach agreements through discussion.
The court said this could save time and reduce the number of pending cases.
The Supreme Court’s three-day Special Lok Adalat concluded after settling or disposing of 1,712 cases.
A total of 3,285 cases were listed, with 1,664 settled or disposed of directly and 48 resolved through mediation.
The Special Lok Adalat was held from August 21 to 23 as part of the Samadhan Samaroh 2026 initiative.
The court said ₹240.94 crore was disbursed during the proceedings.
The cases included matrimonial, property, motor accident, land acquisition, tax, service and labour disputes.
