Eagle IGP Felicitates Centenarians at Vijayawada Senior Citizens Programme
A group in Vijayawada held a programme to honour people who are at least 100 years old.
The Senior Citizens Charitable Trust has been doing this for about 20 years.
Police official Aake Ravikrishna attended the event.
He said respecting older people is an important part of Indian culture.
He told older people they can contact the police when they have problems.
He warned them to be careful about cyber fraud.
He said they should report such fraud quickly by calling 1930.
He also asked children living far away to regularly call and visit their parents.
EAGLE IGP Aake Ravikrishna felicitated centenarians at a Senior Citizens Charitable Trust programme in Vijayawada Central constituency.
The trust has honoured people who completed 100 years during the past two decades.
Among those felicitated were Padma Shri awardee and violinist Annavarapu Ramaswamy and Adusumilli Venugopala Rao.
Ravikrishna urged senior citizens to approach police without fear and report cyber fraud immediately through 1930.
He asked children living elsewhere in India or abroad to regularly contact, check on, and visit their parents.
