Election Commission Extends Telangana SIR, Delays Final Voter Roll
The Election Commission is checking and updating Telangana’s voter lists.
People can now submit requests or complaints until October 7, 2026.
This is three weeks later than the original deadline.
Officials will review these requests until November 5.
The final voter lists will be released on November 9.
Election workers must deliver notices directly to voters.
They were also told to help older people and people with disabilities.
Help desks will be available to support voters with the process.
The Election Commission of India extended Telangana’s claims and objections period until October 7, 2026.
The filing window began on August 17 and was previously scheduled to close on September 16.
Officials will now complete the notice phase and dispose of claims and objections by November 5, instead of October 15.
The final electoral rolls for all Telangana assembly constituencies will be published on November 9, postponed from October 19.
Election officials were instructed to personally deliver notices, assist vulnerable voters, activate help desks, and clear pending cases.
