Skoda drives Volkswagen India’s profit revival, backed by parent support
Volkswagen’s Indian unit, called Skoda Auto Volkswagen India, made a lot more money in 2026 than it did in the previous two years.
This happened because a lot more people bought Skoda cars, especially a new SUV called the Kylaq.
The company also got a big cash boost from its parent companies in Germany and the Czech Republic.
That money helped keep the company’s profits healthy.
Even if you ignore that extra cash, the company still grew its regular sales revenue.
The parent companies gave this support because they want the Indian business to keep growing and stay competitive.
The company also talked about selling its stake to a big Indian group called JSW.
Overall, the Indian unit is doing better thanks to strong sales and extra help from its global family.
Skoda Auto Volkswagen India Pvt Ltd posted a 48% jump in net profit to ₹139 crore in FY26.
Total revenue rose 11% to ₹22,338 crore, driven by a 68% surge in Skoda retail sales, especially the Kylaq SUV.
Volkswagen Group increased financial assistance to the Indian unit to ₹1,341 crore, more than double the previous year’s ₹564 crore.
The support helped maintain operating margins and was recorded as other income, boosting reported revenue.
Skoda sales grew 68% to 75,556 units, while Volkswagen Cars sales fell 11% to 37,576 units in FY26.
