Kia Reveals Carens and Carens Clavis Factory-Fitted CNG Specifications
Kia is preparing CNG versions of its Carens and Carens Clavis family vehicles in India.
CNG is a fuel that can cost less to use than petrol.
These vehicles will get their CNG systems installed at the factory instead of by outside dealers.
Each one will have a 60-litre CNG tank in the boot.
Kia says the spare wheel will still fit underneath the vehicle.
The engine will make less power on CNG than it does on petrol.
The vehicles are expected to have six-speed manual gearboxes, but an automatic has not been confirmed.
Kia has not announced prices or an exact launch date, but the vehicles are expected before Diwali 2026.
Kia confirmed factory-fitted CNG versions of the Carens and Carens Clavis MPVs for India.
Both models will use a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine with a 60-litre CNG tank.
The CNG engine produces 93 hp and 123 Nm, down from the standard petrol version’s output by 22 hp and 21 Nm.
Kia says the tank will be mounted in the boot while retaining the spare wheel underneath the vehicle.
Prices, variants, fuel-efficiency figures and the launch date remain unconfirmed, though launch is expected before Diwali 2026.
