India sells petrol that is mixed with a little bit of alcohol called ethanol.

The government wants to use a blend of 20% ethanol to help the environment and buy less oil from other countries.

Some people are worried this fuel can hurt cars and scooters.

A big minister named Hardeep Singh Puri said the fuel is safe.

He said workers test almost 2,000 petrol samples every single day.

Out of all those tests, they only found four bad samples.

He also said India has about 107,000 petrol pumps and none ever ran out of fuel.

The leader of the opposition, Rahul Gandhi, says the fuel is hurting people's vehicles and wallets.

He promised the opposition will fight the policy in a big way.

The government and the opposition do not agree about E20 petrol.
