TTD backs GCC with Rs 12.97 cr procurement order

A big temple organization called Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams decided to buy many food items from a special company called Girijan Cooperative Corporation.

This company is run by the government and gets products from tribal farmers who live in special areas of the state.

The temple group will spend about 12.97 crore rupees on these items over the next year.

The items include coffee, cashew nuts, dry chillies, honey, and different powders used in the temple.

The coffee is very special because it is made only from Arabica beans grown by tribal farmers.

The temple agreed to pay a higher price for this coffee because it has a special tag proving where it comes from.

For some items, like dry chillies, the temple will actually pay a lower price than before.

Cashew nuts are the biggest part of the order.

If the price of some powders cannot be lowered, the temple will still buy them because the company is a government organization that helps tribal people.

This decision helps support tribal farmers and their products.
