Green India Challenge Begins Sixth Year of Jammi Sapling Drive
Green India Challenge has started its Jammi tree planting campaign for the sixth year in a row.
The campaign asks people to plant Jammi saplings in villages and at temples across Telangana.
Joginipally Santosh Kumar and Kotha Prabhakar Reddy began the drive by planting a sapling at a temple.
They also showed the campaign poster.
Santosh Kumar said the group would take responsibility for the effort.
Jammi is Telangana’s State Tree.
The state’s former chief minister, K. Chandrashekar Rao, declared it the State Tree after Telangana was formed.
