Mother of Taliban suspect claims her son is innocent

A young man named Asaful Malik was arrested by police in Bengaluru, a big city in India.

The police think he may have links to a group called Tehreek e Taliban Pakistan.

But Malik's mother, Hasina Bibi, says her son is innocent.

She says he always loved studying and graduated from Gobardanga Hindu College.

He was trying hard to get a government job and even wanted to join the police.

Because his family needed money, he took a job as a security guard in Bengaluru.

He had been working there for about a year and a half.

His parents, who live far away in a village called Noapara, were told about the arrest by the police.

His father has now gone to Bengaluru to talk to the police and learn more.

His mother hopes the truth will come out and her son will be proven innocent.
