Delhi Cabinet approves draft Private Universities Bill for Assembly

The leaders who run Delhi, a big city in India, had an important meeting on a Friday.

At this meeting, they said yes to a new plan called the Private Universities Bill.

This plan will let people start private universities in Delhi, paid for with private money instead of government money.

Right now, many students from Delhi have to leave their city to find good universities.

The new plan wants to make it possible for them to study at home.

The plan says that one out of every four seats must be for students from Delhi.

Some of those students will get money off their fees, and a few will not have to pay at all.

A special group will check that the universities teach well and treat students fairly.

The new universities will be built in a modern way because there is not much open land in Delhi.
