Blinkit widens lead as India’s quick-commerce war intensifies
India has several apps that deliver groceries and other items very quickly.
CLSA compared how often people used these apps, using data from Sensor Tower.
Blinkit had the most weekly active users, at about 36 million.
Its user base grew faster than those of most major competitors during the quarter.
Zepto was the second-largest standalone app in the comparison.
Instamart also grew quickly, especially during the latest four-week period.
However, using an app during a week does not necessarily mean a person placed an order.
Swiggy’s Super app also combines quick commerce with other services, so comparisons with standalone apps are not exact.
Blinkit’s average weekly active users reached 36 million in the second quarter of FY27, with quarterly growth accelerating to 13.1%.
Zepto remained the second-largest standalone quick-commerce app, with 23.4 million weekly active users in the latest data.
Swiggy Instamart’s quarterly weekly active users grew 13%, while its latest four-week growth reached 23%.
Blinkit recorded 243.3 million cumulative downloads and a 15% weekly-active-user-to-download ratio, ahead of Zepto’s 14%.
CLSA cautioned that weekly active users do not directly represent orders, transacting users, revenue, or profitability.
