Northern Railway Adds Festival Special Trains Across Key Routes
Northern Railway is adding extra trains for people traveling during the festive season.
These trains will begin running on October 1.
They will connect important cities in northern, eastern and western India.
Some trains will run every day, while others will run only on certain weekdays.
Routes include New Delhi to Supaul, Rishikesh to Muzaffarpur, and Amritsar to Kolkata.
Some trains will travel toward Mumbai’s Lokmanya Tilak Terminus.
Four trains that already exist will also run for longer.
The extra services are meant to help manage the larger number of passengers.

Northern Railway will run additional reserved festival special trains from October 1 through December 1 on several routes.
The services connect Delhi, Rishikesh, Amritsar, Varanasi and Sultanpur with destinations including Supaul, Kolkata, Bhagalpur, Barauni and Mumbai’s Lokmanya Tilak Terminus.
The New Delhi–Supaul pair will operate daily and provide 118 trips, while the Anand Vihar–Bhagalpur pair will provide 94 trips.
Special services will also run from Rishikesh and Amritsar, including routes to Muzaffarpur, Kolkata and Barauni.
Four existing special trains have been extended, adding services between New Delhi and Danapur and between Ranchi and Anand Vihar Terminal.
