MPPCB Fines Railways ₹10.06 Lakh Over Bhopal Station Waste Mess
A big train station in Bhopal, India, became very dirty and smelly.
Rubbish was piled up near the tracks, and the drains were clogged with waste.
The government group that protects the environment, called MPPCB, checked the station and found it was not being cleaned properly.
They said the people who run the trains have to pay money for the mess they created.
The amount they must pay is about 10 lakh rupees, which is a lot of money.
The train company was told about this fine with a special notice.
A court that handles nature and pollution cases heard about the problem and agreed with the fine.
The train company asked for more time to explain, and the court gave them two weeks.
Another pollution group also got two more weeks to share its side of the story.
Everyone will meet again on September 24 to decide what happens next.

The assessment was submitted before the National Green Tribunal's (NGT) Central Zone Bench in Bhopal during a hearing on a petition filed by Shivam Kumar Kori.
A joint inspection found choked and overflowing drains near platforms 4 and 5, an uncovered solid waste storage area on platform 6, and waste-filled bags along the railway tracks.
The NGT granted the Railways and the CPCB two weeks each to file their responses, with the next hearing scheduled for September 24.
