India’s Merchandise Exports Estimated to Rise 15% Amid Uncertainty
India expects to sell about 15% more goods to other countries during April-August.
This period covers the first five months of the fiscal year.
Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal shared this estimate.
He said the increase is happening despite problems in the global economy.
Earlier data showed exports rose 17.04% during April-July.
Imports also rose during those four months, increasing 19.27%.
The official August numbers have not yet been released.
The Commerce Ministry plans to publish them on September 15.

Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal announced the estimate at the BRICS Women’s Business Alliance Women-Led Development Summit 2026.
The estimate comes despite what Goyal described as global turmoil and softer internal trade.
During April-July, exports rose 17.04% to USD 173.78 billion, while imports increased 19.27% to USD 292.38 billion.
The Commerce Ministry is scheduled to release August trade data on September 15.
