Odisha Final Electoral Roll Excludes 20 Lakh Electors
Odisha checked its voter list in an exercise called a Special Intensive Revision.
Before the check, the state had nearly 3.34 crore registered voters.
Officials gave voters forms to fill out between May 30 and June 28.
Forms were received for about 93.97 percent of the electorate.
About 20.13 lakh names were left out of the draft list because their forms were not received.
Officials then checked voters whose details could not be matched or had other problems.
They removed 44,777 people found ineligible and added 2.90 lakh voters after considering claims and objections.
The final list has 3.16 crore voters, including 1.61 crore males and 2,774 third-gender electors.
