Gujarat: GSFC to retrofit Vadnagar autorickshaws with heritage-themed designs · thehansindia.com

Vadnagar is a very old town in the state of Gujarat, India, full of history like ancient temples, monasteries, fort walls and wells.

People visit Vadnagar to see its historical places, and it is even on a special list of heritage places that UNESCO is considering.

Many tourists travel around the town in small three-wheeled vehicles called autorickshaws.

A company called GSFC is now helping make those autorickshaws look special.

Using its charity money, GSFC is giving the vehicles new designs that show off Vadnagar's heritage.

Each autorickshaw costs more than Rs 50,000 to give its new look.

So far, 21 autorickshaws have been painted and decorated in the first round of this 'Vadnagar Heritage Auto Project'.

More than 300 autorickshaws in the town can join the project.

The plan helps tourists enjoy the town and also helps the drivers earn money from tourism.

Drivers who want to join can sign up with the GSFC representative at Vadnagar ST Depot.
