Special Amritsar–Nanded Trains Announced Amid Festival Passenger Rush
South Central Railway is adding a special train service between Amritsar and Hazur Sahib Nanded.
The trains are meant to help people traveling during the busy festival and holiday season.
The train from Amritsar leaves on August 31, 2026, at 8:10 p.m.
It reaches Hazur Sahib Nanded at 11 a.m.
on Wednesday.
The return train leaves Nanded on September 6 at 9 p.m.
and reaches Amritsar at 11:20 a.m.
on Tuesday.
The trains will stop at many cities along the route and will have sleeper and general coaches.
Railway staff also checked tickets and found many passengers traveling without valid tickets or with unbooked luggage.
Officials asked passengers to follow railway rules, avoid smoking and littering, and travel with valid tickets.
South Central Railway will run special trains between Amritsar and Hazur Sahib Nanded during the festival and holiday season.
Train 04642 departs Amritsar at 8:10 p.m. on August 31, 2026, and reaches Hazur Sahib Nanded at 11 a.m. Wednesday.
The return service, Train 04641, leaves Hazur Sahib Nanded at 9 p.m. on September 6 and reaches Amritsar at 11:20 a.m. Tuesday.
The trains will stop at 24 stations, including Delhi Safdarjung, Agra Cantt, Bhopal, Bhusaval, Manmad and Parbhani.
A separate SCR ticket-checking drive found 13,964 irregular travelers and 1,189 passengers with unbooked luggage, generating Rs 1.28 crore.
