Heavy Rain Brings Landslides, Road Blockades Across Southern Odisha
Heavy rain fell across Odisha for three days.
The rain caused landslides, fallen trees and flooding in many places.
Some roads and railway tracks were blocked.
In Kandhamal, part of a road guard wall was washed away.
Large rocks also fell onto National Highway-16.

Three days of heavy rain disrupted normal life across southern Odisha, especially in Kandhamal, Gajapati, Malkangiri, Koraput and Rayagada.
Landslides, fallen trees, boulders and waterlogging blocked roads and affected railway services in several areas.
Kandhamal’s Kalinga Ghati lost nearly 200 metres of a guard wall, while boulders blocked National Highway-16 at Bada Ghati.
About 37 blocks and five urban areas were affected, with rescue teams using boats to evacuate people from flooded locations.
Five gates of the Indravati Dam were opened, while officials monitored rising rivers including the Baitarani and vulnerable areas.
