JSW Puts 50GWh India Battery Cell Plant On Hold
JSW Group wanted to build a very large factory in India to make battery cells.
The factory was planned to eventually produce 50GWh of cells.
JSW says it needs LFP technology, which is cheaper and stable for electric-vehicle batteries.
The company says this technology is difficult to obtain because China restricts technology transfers.
Because JSW has not found a technology partner, it has paused the factory project.
JSW can still assemble battery packs using cells imported from other countries.
