Jalgaon University Emphasizes Skill-Based, Job-Oriented Education Under NEP
A minister visited a university in Jalgaon and asked it to teach useful skills, not only textbook lessons.
He said students should be prepared for jobs and business opportunities.
The university started work on several new buildings and learning facilities.
These include a boys’ hostel, competitive-exam training centre and scientific equipment centre.
It also opened an online centre for Tribal Studies.
A new partnership will give some students practical field experience.
A donation was announced to help build the boys’ hostel.
The university also plans to train about 2,000 teachers in artificial intelligence and later teach students.
Higher and Technical Education Minister Chandrakant Patil urged universities to prioritize practical, skill-based and employment-oriented education.
Kavayitri Bahinabai Chaudhari North Maharashtra University launched or began work on hostels, training facilities, content studios and an analytical instrumentation centre.
The university inaugurated an online Tribal Studies Centre and signed an MoU with Kantai Netralaya for applied social sciences field training.
Ashok Jain announced a donation of ₹11,11,111 toward construction of Boys' Hostel No. 4.
Vice-Chancellor Prof V. L. Maheshwari said the university plans to train about 2,000 teachers in AI before expanding training to students.
