Mumbai University Holds Student Dialogue in Hostels to Address Concerns
The University of Mumbai is a big university where many students live in buildings called hostels.
On Independence Day, leaders of the university visited four of these hostels.
They wanted to talk directly with the students who live there.
Their goal was to hear about problems and worries the students have.
They also wanted to share news about new learning and training opportunities.
The university is following a plan called the National Education Policy 2020, or NEP.
This plan offers courses and skill programmes to help students build careers.
The leaders promised to make the hostels safer and more comfortable.
They said the university will keep talking with students to make their education and daily life better.
University of Mumbai officials visited four hostels on Independence Day as part of the 'Student Dialogue' initiative.
The initiative aims to understand students' concerns and inform them about educational and skill-development opportunities under NEP 2020.
Vice-Chancellor Prof. Ravindra Kulkarni and Registrar Dr Prasad Karande met students at Madam Cama Girls' Hostel.
Pro-Vice-Chancellor Dr Ajay Bhamre interacted with students at Karmaveer Bhaurao Patil Boys' Hostel.
The university pledged to prioritise student welfare, improve hostel facilities and continue regular engagement with students.
