Maharashtra Anti-Corruption Bureau Registers 439 Trap Cases in 7 Months

In Maharashtra, a special police team called the Anti-Corruption Bureau catches government workers who take bribes, which are secret payments people make to get unfair help.

In the first seven months of the year, the team registered 439 such trap cases.

That is more than the 419 cases registered in the same period last year.

A total of 632 people were caught, including 109 ordinary citizens.

Most of the officials caught were middle-level government employees.

The most cases were against workers in the department that handles land records and revenue.

Police officials were linked to the largest amount of bribe money.

The Nashik area saw the highest number of cases.

One official was also booked for having money far beyond their known income.

The bureau is working to stop these unfair practices across the state.
