The complainant refused to pay, lodged a complaint with the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), which verified the demand and laid a trap.
Dongre was apprehended near the entrance of the CIDCO divisional office while accepting the money.
A case was registered against him at the Ambad Police Station under the Prevention of Corruption Act.
