El Niño is a natural weather pattern that can make parts of the world much hotter.

In the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh, officials say this could change how people use electricity.

That is because on hot days, people use more power for fans and air conditioners.

The state's energy minister, Gottipati Ravi Kumar, held a meeting about this.

Officials told him that daily electricity use has already crossed 270 million units.

The minister asked them to plan ahead so there is always enough power.

He wants the state to buy extra electricity in advance through special power markets.

He also wants more renewable energy, like solar and wind power.

He reminded officials to keep power plants in good condition and fix breakdowns quickly.

This way, homes, farms, shops and factories can all keep their lights on.
