The University of Delhi has created a special rule for its first four-year undergraduate batch.

Students who finish the programme in 2026 may apply directly for a PhD.

They will not have to complete a postgraduate degree first.

Most students need at least a 7.5 CGPA, while SC and ST students need at least 7 CGPA.

They also will not need to show a research paper for this special admission route.

The rule is only for the 2026-27 academic year.

DU introduced the four-year programme under the National Education Policy 2020.

The university has also opened one-year postgraduate courses for students who want another option.
