West Bengal Sanctions Rs 41 Crore for 56 Alipurduar Projects
The government in West Bengal decided to spend a lot of money to build things in a place called Alipurduar.
They set aside 41 crore rupees for 56 different projects.
Some of the projects are new roads, a park for children, and fixing up a big open ground.
Another 14 crore rupees will be used to build a bridge over a river called the Kaljani.
Right now, people cross the river using a bamboo bridge that is only there in winter.
When it rains a lot, the bamboo bridge goes away and people must travel 14 kilometres the long way around.
Some people have been asking for this bridge for many years.
The government hopes to finish choosing builders for all the projects before the Durga Puja festival.

Projects include paver-block roads, renovation of the Parade Ground in Alipurduar, and a children's park in Falakata.
Tenders for four projects are already completed, with the rest to be invited in phases before Durga Puja.
A separate ₹14 crore was sanctioned for a bridge over the Kaljani river, long demanded by local residents.
Residents say the temporary bamboo bridge is unusable in monsoon, forcing detours of at least 14 km to Falakata and Cooch Behar.
