Vijayawada Durga Temple Hundi Collection Crosses Rs 2.6 Crore
The Durga temple in Vijayawada counted the money and gifts devotees placed in its hundis.
From September 23 to October 7, it received more than Rs 2.6 crore in cash.
That works out to an average of about Rs 18.6 lakh each day.
People also gave 186 grams of gold and 2.605 kilograms of silver.
Some offerings were foreign money from many countries.
Temple staff counted the offerings at Mallikarjuna Maha Mandapam.
Executive Officer VK Seena Naik supervised the counting.
The temple collected Rs 2,60,73,491 in cash through its hundis from September 23 to October 7.
The average daily cash collection was Rs 18,62,392.21.
Devotees also offered 186 grams of gold and 2.605 kilograms of silver.
The hundis included foreign currency from several countries, including US dollars, euros and Australian dollars.
Counting took place at Mallikarjuna Maha Mandapam under the supervision of Executive Officer VK Seena Naik.
