Pune Announces Toll-Free Passes for Konkan Ganesh Devotees
The Maharashtra government is giving toll-free travel passes to Ganesh devotees going to Konkan.
The offer applies during both the onward and return journeys.
It will be available from September 11 to September 27, 2026.
Vehicles carrying devotees can use the benefit.
Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation buses can also receive the concession.
People must show their vehicle and travel documents to get a pass.
The Pune RTO will issue passes at its main office and two other offices.
This is meant to make festival travel easier for eligible devotees.
Toll exemption will cover Ganesh devotees travelling to and from Konkan between September 11 and 27, 2026.
The Maharashtra government issued the relevant circular on September 8, 2026.
Vehicles carrying devotees and Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation buses will qualify for the concession.
The Regional Transport Office, Pune, will issue passes after verifying required vehicle documents.
Applicants must submit documents including the RC, driving licence, insurance, PUC and permit where applicable.
