Indian Athletics Stars Set for Bhubaneswar Silver Meet
India’s best track and field athletes are competing in a major meet in Bhubaneswar.
The event is part of the World Athletics Continental Tour.
Athletes from 23 countries will take part.
Jyothi Yarraji is returning to competition after ACL surgery and will race in the 100m hurdles.
Tajinderpal Singh Toor will compete in the shot put.
Murali Sreeshankar and Ancy Sojan will take part in the long jump events.
Other Indian athletes will compete in sprinting, javelin and high jump.
The meet gives them a chance to test themselves before the Asian Games.
Jyothi Yarraji, Tajinderpal Singh Toor and other Indian stars will compete at Saturday’s World Athletics Silver-level meet in Bhubaneswar.
The one-day event will feature 198 athletes from 23 countries across 18 men’s and women’s events.
Yarraji will continue her comeback from ACL surgery in a competitive 100m hurdles field.
Toor, Murali Sreeshankar, Ancy Sojan, Gurindervir Singh and Animesh Kujur headline several key Indian events.
The competition will help Indian athletes prepare for the Asian Games, which are less than a month away.
