Sri Lanka President Dissanayake Hands Over 165 Housing Title Deeds
Sri Lankan President Anura Kumara Dissanayake gave house ownership papers to 165 families.
The families are part of the third phase of a housing project supported by India.
Indian and Sri Lankan officials attended the ceremony.
A new community called Navodayapuram was also opened in Poonagala.
It was built for 50 families affected by disasters.
India’s project plans to provide 60,000 houses in Sri Lanka.
So far, 50,000 houses have been completed, while 10,000 more are being built.
The two countries are also working together on recovery after Cyclone Ditwah.

Navodayapuram, a Sri Lankan government housing project for 50 disaster-affected families, was inaugurated in Poonagala.
