Hyderabad Man Held for Multiple Indian Passports, Fake Identities
Police in Hyderabad, a big city in India, caught a man who they say had many Indian passports.
A passport is a special booklet that lets people travel to other countries.
The passports had different names, different birthdays, and different details on them.
The police think he used the different passports to ask for permission to travel to the United States, which is called a visa.
The American consulate in Hyderabad told the police about him, and the police started their investigation on March 22.
When the police searched him, they found fake papers, a mobile phone, a tablet, and other gadgets.
Some of the papers used to get the passports, like a residence certificate, were also fake.
Now the man has been sent to court and the police will keep looking into what he did.
They are also checking if other people helped him get so many passports.
Gachibowli police arrested Mothukupalli Lakshmikant Reddy for allegedly holding multiple Indian passports with different names and identities.
The passports carried different names, dates of birth and identification details and were used in connection with US visa applications.
The case was registered on March 22 following a complaint by the US Consulate-General Hyderabad.
