India Develops Bharat Vecto Tool for Truck Efficiency Certification
Fuel-efficiency tool for trucks may be ready by Dec, launch likely in Feb · rediff.com

India is creating a new tool called Bharat Vecto to test how efficiently large trucks and buses use fuel.

It will also measure how much carbon dioxide they produce.

The tool will use information about a vehicle’s engine, transmission, weight, tyres, and other parts.

It will then simulate how the vehicle performs in different real-world situations.

The Automotive Research Association of India has tested 16 diesel vehicles for the project.

It is also creating eight standard patterns for how trucks and buses operate.

The tool may be launched at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo in February 2027.

Later, it may help measure how far electric trucks and buses can travel on one battery charge.
