Maharashtra Minister Directs Fast-Tracking National Highway Works Ahead Ganeshotsav
Every year, many people in India travel to a region called Konkan to celebrate Ganeshotsav, a big festival for Lord Ganesha.
Large crowds use the roads to get there.
A minister named Bharat Gogawale wants the roads to be safe for all those travellers.
So he told the people in charge of national highways to hurry up and finish their road work.
He met with officials from the National Highways Authority of India to talk about ten road projects.
One important road is the Mangaon-Indapur bypass, where they hope to open at least one lane before the festival.
There is also a plan to widen another big road into a four-lane highway.
That will help a large port and an industrial area grow in the future.
The minister also asked people not to park their vehicles on the main roads during the festival.
He wants everyone to have a safe and smooth journey.
Maharashtra Minister Bharat Gogawale directed authorities to expedite pending national highway works in Raigad ahead of Ganeshotsav.
Gogawale chaired a review meeting at Konkan Bhavan with senior NHAI officials, covering 10 key highway project issues.
Officials aim to open at least one lane of the Mangaon-Indapur bypass on National Highway 66 before the festival, weather permitting.
The meeting discussed a proposal to widen the Pune-Paud-Mulshi-Mangaon-Mhasla-Dighi Port route (NH-753F) into a four-lane highway.
Gogawale appealed to traders, representatives and residents of Mangaon and Indapur not to park vehicles on main roads during Ganeshotsav.
Local infrastructure demands included service roads, footpaths, slope stabilisation, protective walls along the Savitri river, and bus bays and passenger shelters.
