Maruti Suzuki Targets One Million Green Vehicle Sales FY27
Maruti Suzuki wants to sell almost one million environmentally focused vehicles during FY27.
These vehicles include CNG, hybrid and electric models.
The company has launched automatic CNG versions of the Swift, Dzire and Baleno.
Earlier, customers who wanted CNG had fewer automatic options.
The new models are meant to offer both lower running costs and automatic driving convenience.
Maruti Suzuki already sells about 80,000 CNG cars each month.
The company says it could sell more if it can increase CNG vehicle production.
It also says high crude oil prices may encourage more people to choose these vehicles.
Maruti Suzuki India is targeting nearly 1 million green-vehicle sales in FY27, including CNG, hybrid and electric vehicles.
The company raised its earlier projection of 800,000-900,000 green-vehicle sales after launching automatic CNG variants.
Automatic S-CNG versions of the Swift, Dzire and Baleno were introduced under Maruti Suzuki’s Auto Green Mission.
Maruti Suzuki sells about 80,000 CNG vehicles monthly and holds approximately 70% of India’s CNG car market.
The company said CNG production capacity of about 18,000 vehicles monthly is currently limiting higher sales, while the Dzire automatic S-CNG claims 36.47 km/kg efficiency.
