Telangana Speeds Land Acquisition for NH-44 Corridor Projects
Telangana is working on two major road corridor projects near Hyderabad.
One is a 5.40-kilometre elevated road on NH-44.
The other is an 18.18-kilometre corridor on SH-01.
Chief Secretary Sanjay Jaju visited both projects to check their progress.
He asked officials to quickly acquire private land needed for construction.
He also told them to hand over government and religious structures as soon as possible.
Some work is delayed by issues at a function hall, an airport tunnel and Defence land.
The projects include elevated roads, ramps, a subway and other structures.
Jaju said departments should work together so the projects finish on time and meet quality standards.
Chief Secretary Sanjay Jaju directed Hyderabad and Medchal-Malkajgiri officials to expedite private-land acquisition for the NH-44 Elevated Corridor.
The 5.40-km elevated corridor runs from Paradise Junction to Dairy Farm Road.
Officials reviewed bottlenecks involving Le Royal Function Hall, a tunnel at Begumpet Airport and Defence land near the 68th Regiment area.
Jaju also inspected the 18.18-km SH-01 corridor from Paradise Junction to Shameerpet at the Outer Ring Road junction.
The SH-01 project includes 11.658 km of elevated roadway, ramps, a tunnel-cum-vehicular subway and grade-separation structures.
