Officials checked work for a new Metro route in Hyderabad’s Old City.

The route will run for 7.5 kilometres between Darulshifa and Chandrayangutta.

The inspection happened on Saturday.

Most of the properties needed for the project have been acquired.

There are 55 properties still remaining, including some heritage structures.

Officials were told to move power lines and pipelines faster.

They were also asked to remove affected structures where the land was already acquired.

Local residents were reported to be cooperating with the Metro work.
