PMRDA Begins Fresh Land Acquisition for Pune Inner Ring Road
PMRDA is working to acquire land for a new road around Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad.
The road is planned to be 83.12 kilometres long and 65 metres wide.
It is meant to help keep heavy and through traffic away from busy city roads.
From October 7 to 17, officials plan to hold meetings and measure land in Maval, Mulshi and Haveli.
The meetings will explain the process and give affected landholders a chance to raise concerns.
PMRDA says it hopes to get land with landholders’ consent rather than use compulsory acquisition.
It says people who consent would receive higher compensation and the process would move faster.
Measurement and valuation are already complete in three villages, and ₹144 crore has been deposited for compensation.
The project also includes tunnels, bridges, interchanges and railway overbridges.
PMRDA scheduled village meetings and joint land measurements across Maval, Mulshi and Haveli from October 7 to 17.
The proposed Inner Ring Road is 83.12 kilometres long and 65 metres wide, and is intended to divert through and heavy traffic from urban roads.
PMRDA completed measurement and valuation in Solu, Nirgudi and Vadgaon Shinde and deposited ₹144 crore in compensation with the Pune District Collector's Office.
The authority says it is seeking landholder consent for acquisition, and that consenting landholders would receive higher compensation and faster processing.
The project has administrative approval of ₹14,200 crore and includes 11 tunnels, 17 major bridges, nine interchanges and two railway overbridges.
