NHAI Floats Rs 8,668 Crore Tenders for Amaravati Ring Road
A large ring road is planned around Amaravati in Andhra Pradesh.
It will have six lanes and controlled entry points.
The road is meant to give vehicles another way to travel around busy city areas.
The National Highways Authority of India has invited bids for three sections of the project.
Together, these sections are valued at about Rs 8,668 crore.
The road should connect Amaravati with Vijayawada, Guntur, Tenali and important highways.
It is also planned to improve access to Vijayawada Airport and nearby ports.
The government says the project could reduce travel time by about 30–40%.
The National Highways Authority of India floated three tenders worth about Rs 8,668 crore for the Amaravati Outer Ring Road.
