Kia's Plant Transforms Penukonda Into 'Little Korea' Hub

Penukonda is a town in India that used to be very dry and drought-prone, so it was hard for people to find good jobs.

A big car company from South Korea, called Kia, decided to build a huge factory there.

The factory cost two billion dollars to build and started making cars in August 2019.

Since then, it has made more than one million cars, including models called the Seltos, Sonet and Carens.

Because of the factory, many new shops, hotels, homes and transport services were built in the area.

Thousands of people got jobs at the factory and in businesses that work with it.

Young people in the area also received technical training to learn new skills.

People now call the town 'Little Korea' because it grew and changed so much because of the Korean car company.
