AP Junior Doctors Strike as Government Talks Break Down

Doctors are people who help sick people get better.

Some young doctors in training work in hospitals in a place called Andhra Pradesh.

These junior doctors take care of patients while they learn.

The doctors wanted more money for their work.

They asked the government to give them a 30 percent pay increase.

The doctors and the government talked about it many times, but they could not agree.

So the doctors decided to go on strike.

A strike means they stop doing some of their work to show they are upset.

They will not do normal, non-critical jobs between 9 in the morning and 4 in the afternoon.

But they promised that very sick people in the ICU will still be taken care of.

The doctors also started hunger strikes to show how serious they are.

They hope the government will listen and give them a fair pay raise.
