Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta honoured 118 teachers on Teachers’ Day.

The ceremony took place at Thyagaraj Stadium in New Delhi.

The teachers were recognised for helping students learn and grow.

Gupta said teachers teach more than lessons from textbooks.

They also help children develop values, confidence, skills and a sense of responsibility.

The Delhi government said it wants every child to receive a quality education.

It has set aside Rs 19,148 crore for education in 2026–27.

The government is also creating 170 language labs and using new programmes to help students prepare for the future.
