Delhi-NCR Shifts To Proactive Pollution Checks Ahead Of Winter Smog
Authorities in Delhi-NCR are checking pollution sources earlier than usual this year.
They inspected construction sites, factories and diesel generators before winter begins.
Some places may be closed, and some diesel generators may be sealed for breaking pollution rules.
Officials also inspected 35 premises in Nuh, Haryana.
They want to reduce dust, industrial smoke and diesel exhaust before winter weather traps pollution near the ground.

The wider plan includes cleaner fuels, better waste management, electric transport and stricter vehicle checks.
The Commission for Air Quality Management reviewed 150 inspections conducted across Delhi-NCR between August 24 and September 7.
The inspections covered seven construction sites, 98 industrial units and 45 diesel-generator sets.
Proposed enforcement includes closing three construction projects and one industrial unit, and sealing 25 diesel-generator sets.
A special inspection in Nuh found 13 of 35 premises compliant, with further action proposed against several others.
Authorities plan hotspot monitoring, forecast-based preventive measures and year-round controls on vehicles, fuels, waste and crop residue.
