Supreme Court Grants 7-Day Interrogation of Accused Police Officer
The Supreme Court said the police could keep a police officer, S.S.V.V. Nagaraju, in custody for seven days to ask him questions.
The police took him from a prison in Rajamahendravaram to Vijayawada.
He was checked by doctors before they started asking him about a boy named Gade Sai Krishna who died while the police had him.
The police think he was hurt and that the body was hidden.
The officer didn’t talk to the police, so they will keep asking him for the rest of the week.
Supreme Court approved a seven‑day custodial interrogation of CI S.S.V.V. Nagaraju, the main accused in the custodial death of Gade Sai Krishna.
The Special Investigation Team, led by IG M Ravi Prakash, took Nagaraju from Rajamahendravaram Central Prison to Vijayawada for questioning.
Investigators examined Nagaraju for medical reasons before interrogation and questioned him about torture, death, disappearance of the body, and alleged destruction of CCTV footage.
Nagaraju did not cooperate with investigators during the interrogation, and the SIT will continue questioning him for the remaining six days.
The case involves allegations that police cremated the body and destroyed evidence, with the mother of the victim, Gade Vijaya Lakshmi, filing a complaint.
