Chain-Snatching Accused Assaults Police Constable Inside Panvel Court Premises

Khan was arrested by Khandeshwar Police last week in a chain-snatching case and was brought to the new Panvel court for a remand hearing after his police custody expired.
The altercation began after police refused his request to meet relatives gathered outside the court, citing security concerns.
Khan allegedly abused senior police officers and punched and kicked Police Constable Manoj Jadhav before other policemen overpowered him.
The court granted him bail in the chain-snatching case, but Panvel City Police registered a fresh FIR for assaulting a public servant and obstructing government duty.
