BJP's Shivamogga Tiranga Yatra Recalls Isuru Uprising on Independence Day

India's Independence Day is a special day when the country celebrates becoming free from British rule a long time ago.

In the city of Shivamogga, a group called the BJP organized a big parade called a Tiranga Yatra.

'Tiranga' is the name for the Indian flag, which has three colors.

The parade had colorful floats called tableaux that showed stories from the freedom struggle.

One of the stories was about a village called Isuru, where villagers said they were free even before the whole country became independent.

The British punished them, and five people from the village were hanged.

An important leader named B.Y. Raghavendra, who represents Shivamogga in Parliament, walked in the parade.

He told people to remember all the freedom fighters who gave their lives.

Thousands of students joined the parade too.

The idea was to teach young people about the sacrifices that helped make India free.
