Odisha's Senior Citizen Pilgrimage Train Leaves Brahmapur for Ayodhya
A special train took 775 older people from Odisha on a religious trip.
They left Brahmapur railway station on Friday.
The group will visit Ayodhya and Varanasi.
They will see the Ganga ghats, attend Ganga Aarti and visit Kashi Vishwanath Temple.
They will also visit important places in Ayodhya.
Twenty-five escorts are travelling with them.
The trip will last five nights and six days.
The Odisha government arranged food, lodging and health check-ups.
The scheme helps senior citizens who may not otherwise be able to afford such a journey.
A special train carrying 775 senior citizens left Brahmapur for Ayodhya and Varanasi on Friday.
The pilgrims came from Ganjam, Nayagada, Kandhamala, Gajapati and Boudh districts, with 25 escorts.
The journey is being conducted under the Odisha government's Senior Citizen Pilgrimage Scheme.
The five-night, six-day itinerary includes Ayodhya, Varanasi's Ganga ghats, Ganga Aarti and Kashi Vishwanath Temple.
Officials said more than 46,000 people had visited pilgrimage centres under the scheme during the past two years.
