AIMIM wants Saidabad flyover named after APJ Abdul Kalam
Hyderabad is a big city in India, and it has a new flyover — a long road held up high above the streets.
A political party called AIMIM wants the city to give this flyover a special name.
They want it to be called the Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Bridge.
Dr Kalam was the President of India and a famous scientist who loved teaching and encouraging children.
A leader named Ahmed Balala wrote a letter to the city office asking them to do this.
He said Dr Kalam inspired millions of young people with his hard work and good values.
The flyover is very big — it is more than three kilometres long and cost 680 crore rupees to build.
Thousands of people drive on it every day to get around the city.
It is almost finished, and the Chief Minister may open it on August 15, the day India celebrates its Independence Day.
AIMIM has urged the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) to rename the Saidabad flyover as Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Bridge.
Malakpet MLA Ahmed Bin Abdullah Balala proposed the name in a letter to the GHMC Commissioner.
Balala cited Dr Kalam's contributions to science, defence, education and his role in inspiring millions of young people.
The 3.32-km flyover, built at a cost of Rs 680 crore, is almost complete.
The flyover is likely to be inaugurated by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy on August 15.
