Telangana minister dismisses BRS leader's land allocation allegations
In the Indian state of Telangana, two political groups are arguing about land and a shopping mall.
One group, called BRS, says the Congress government gave land to a company owned by the Chief Minister's brother.
Another leader, the Industries Minister D Sridhar Babu, says that is not true.
He says the Chief Minister's brothers and sisters have nothing to do with that company.
He also says the government sold land at a much higher price than the earlier government did.
BRS also says there was a big scam in the bidding process for a new mall called the PM Ekta (Unity) Mall.
The minister says the bidding was done fairly and openly.
BRS says it plans to complain to the Governor and, if needed, take the matter to court.
The minister says the Congress government follows the law and that BRS will never return to power.
Telangana Industries Minister D Sridhar Babu dismissed BRS leader K T Rama Rao's allegations that the Congress government allotted land to a company owned by Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy's brother.
Sridhar Babu said the CM's siblings have no link with the firm and that land allocations were made as per rules.
He said the government allocated lands at Rs 1.50 crore per acre, while the previous BRS regime did so at Rs 90 lakh per acre.
On Rama Rao's 'massive scam' allegations in the tender for the proposed PM Ekta (Unity) Mall, the minister said the tender process was conducted transparently.
Rama Rao said BRS will approach Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla with a formal complaint and, if necessary, move the Lokayukta and courts.
